Continuing programme activities of the Republic Center – PORAKA in 2012

The Republic Center for Support of Persons with Intellectual Disability – PORAKA in 2012 continuous with realization of the activities emerging from its goals and principles of work.

One of the basic working areas of RCPLIP – PORAKA is sustaining and developing a network of community-based social services. The activities in this area are aimed towards two directions: sustaining the continuity in the work of the existing social services (day centers) and creating conditions for promotion of other types of services.

Meetings for strategic planning regarding the development of the local organizations of the Republic Center - PORAKA

One of the permanent program activities of the Republic Center for Support of Persons with Intellectual Disability – PORAKA since its foundation is coordination and support to its local organizations. This type of support is provided on request by the local organizations or when the Republic Center – PORAKA realizes that there is a need to support a certain local organization or all of them together, and whenever there are new trends in the working methods.

  RIGHTS TO BECOME REALITY!

In the frame of the program activities in 2010, Republic center for support of persons with intellectual disability-PORAKA continuously lobby for ratification of the UN Convention on the rights for persons with disability. Within the program ”Straightening the citizen involvement in the legislative process” of National Democratic Institute (NDI) and Institute for Parliamentary Democracy (IPD) PORAKA become partner. Taking in consideration the importance of this legally binding agreement, PORAKA in partnership with the NDI and IPD undertook joint activities...

  NOTHING NEW IN THE NEW LAW FOR SOCIAL PROTECTION

The working group did not consider the proposals of PORAKA, which were submitted to the Ministry of Labour and Social policy on several occasions during the creation and during the revision of the draft – law in the previous years...

 FROM THE PARTNERSHIP OF PORAKA IN THE IMPLEMENTATION OF THE EUROPEAN PROJECT "UNIQ" REALIZATION OF THE TEST-PHASE OF THE MODEL "NUEVA" IN THE CZECH REPUBLIC

The project is supported by the European Commission programme Progress, and its main goal is transferring the model for evaluation of services, which is developed by ATEMPO, in three European countries: Czech Republic, Norway and Germany. The model “Nueva” is an innovative approach that provides persons with intellectual disability to conduct evaluation of the services, which they are attending.

  FORMAL OPENING OF THE NEW FACILITIES OF THE DAY CENTER – PORAKA OHRID

In front of large number of associates, supporters and friends of PORAKA Ohrid, on 30th of March 2009, the Mayor of Municipality of Ohrid, Mr Aleksandar Petreski, formally opened the new facilities of the day center – PORAKA Ohrid.

  PARTNERSHIP IN IMPLEMENTATION OF THREE EUROPEAN PROJECTS

For the Republic Center – PORAKA, the opportunity to participate as a partner in European project is of utmost importance due to liaisons and creation of partnerships with organisations from the region and from Europe, as well as for gaining knowledge and experiences regarding new innovative approaches in the work with persons with intellectual disability, that would be adapted and implemented in Republic of Macedonia.

  OPEN DOORS FOR DIFFERENT IN THE UNITED EUROPE

As a partner of the organization “Ucilisno nastojatelstvo – Resursen centar Pazardzik” from Bulgaria, Poraka realized an international exchange of experiences within the project “Open doors for different in the United Europe”.

  REVIEW OF THE UN CONVENTION ON THE RIGHTS OF PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES

The Republic center for support of persons with intellectual disability – PORAKA prepared and published brochure for the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities. The aim of this brochure is to inform the public, especially persons with intellectual disability and their families regarding the rights foreseen in this Convention.
