The Open Day was held on 5.12.2011 starting from ten o'clock. |

Meetings for strategic planning regarding the development of the local organizations of the Republic Center - PORAKA |
One of the permanent program activities of the Republic Center for Support of Persons with Intellectual Disability – PORAKA since its foundation is coordination and support to its local organizations. This type of support is provided on request by the local organizations or when the Republic Center – PORAKA realizes that there is a need to support a certain local organization or all of them together, and whenever there are new trends in the working methods. |

Charity Lunch at the Macedonian Embassy in the Hague |
On 10 November 2011 in The Hague, in the restaurant of the chain of supermarkets Sligro, the Macedonian Embassy in The Hague together with Mrs. Patricia Hollamby, organized the Macedonian Charity Lunch in order to promote Macedonia and to raise funds intended for the NGO Republic Center for Support of Persons with Intellectual Disability – PORAKA. |

Action for refurbishment of the new venue for Day Center in Radovis begins
YOUR SUPPORT IS NEEDED! |
Since it was established the Day Center of Republic Center – PORAKA in Radovis (ten years ago) works in frazzled assembly barracks, which in the past several years on couple occasions underwent refurbishments in order to offer adequate facilities where the programme activities could smoothly be realized. Nevertheless, the frazzle of the facility is still a major problem that obstructs the functioning of the Day Center. Therefore, a bigger and more adequate venue is needed. |

SPORTS AND RECREATIONAL ACTIVITIES FOR THE BENEFICIARIES OF THE DAY CENTERS OF THE REPUBLIC CENTER – PORAKA |
The Republic center for Support of Persons with Intellectual Disability – PORAKA, in the period from 27th of June till 1st of July 2011 and between 19 – 22 September 2011, in the Center for Education of the Red Cross "Solferino" in Struga organised and conducted two sports and recreational activities for the beneficiaries of the Day centers of PORAKA from Skopje, Radovis and Ohrid. |

The British Council in 2009 began to implement a programme called Active Citizens. The main goal of the programme is to offer support to participants to take positive action for society change. In the frame of the program activities in 2010, Republic center for support of persons with intellectual disability-PORAKA continuously lobby for ratification of the UN Convention on the rights for persons with disability. Within the program ”Straightening the citizen involvement in the legislative process” of National Democratic Institute (NDI) and Institute for Parliamentary Democracy (IPD) PORAKA become partner. FROM THE PARTNERSHIP OF PORAKA IN THE IMPLEMENTATION OF THE EUROPEAN PROJECT "UNIQ" REALIZATION OF THE TEST-PHASE OF THE MODEL "NUEVA" IN THE CZECH REPUBLIC
 The project is supported by the European Commission programme Progress, and its main goal is transferring the model for evaluation of services, which is developed by ATEMPO, in three European countries: Czech Republic, Norway and Germany. The model “Nueva” is an innovative approach that provides persons with intellectual disability to conduct evaluation of the services, which they are attending. |

 For the Republic Center – PORAKA, the opportunity to participate as a partner in European project is of utmost importance due to liaisons and creation of partnerships with organisations from the region and from Europe, as well as for gaining knowledge and experiences regarding new innovative approaches in the work with persons with intellectual disability, that would be adapted and implemented in Republic of Macedonia. |

REVIEW OF THE UN CONVENTION ON THE RIGHTS OF PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES
 The Republic center for support of persons with intellectual disability – PORAKA prepared and published brochure for the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities. The aim of this brochure is to inform the public, especially persons with intellectual disability and their families regarding the rights foreseen in this Convention. |
