SWOT analysis workshop for the local
branches and social services of the Republic Center
- PORAKA
Within
the coordination and support of the work of its local branches
the Republic Center for Support of Persons with Intellectual
Disability – PORAKA this year as well has organized a workshop
for SWOT analysis of the local branches and the social services
(day centers) that it manages. The SWOT analysis is an instrument
which is very useful for assessment of the actual situation within
the organization, with all its strengths and weaknesses, but
also the opportunities and threats that come from the environment
where the organization works. This instrument, if it is impartially
prepared, represents solid position for preparation of real and
achievable action plans of the organization, as well as finding
out ways for improvement and overcoming the weakness within the
organization.
The workshop was organized in Skopje in the premises of the Republic
center - PORAKA on 14.04.2007. Participants on this workshop were representatives
of the local branches and the day centers that previously prepared SWOT analyses
regarding their organizations and submitted them to the Republic Center – PORAKA
on time.
During the workshop, each of the participants had the opportunity
to present the SWOT analysis, but also to present the recent activities taken
by their organization. The team of the Republic Center – PORAKA, and the other
participants, gave remarks and advice relating the work of each local organization,
and at the same time were emphasizing the positive examples of successful practice.
This
workshop had the aim to consolidate the activities and the work
of the local branches of the Republic Center – PORAKA and its social
services. This is of exceptional importance precisely in this period
since they will have to find ways for building cooperation i.e.
partnership relations with the local authorities and actively contribute
for advancement of the human rights of persons with intellectual
disability in the community.
