The Foundation Open Society Institute – Macedonia presented the results of the public opinion survey
“How Inclusive is the Macedonian Society?”
Within the NGOs fair and on the occasion of its 15th anniversary, FOSIM presented the results of the public opinion survey “How Inclusive is the Macedonian Society?” on 17th November 2007 at the premises of the Skopje Fair.
The Republic center for support of persons with intellectual disability – PORAKA took active participation in the preparation of the questions and in suggestions for focus groups that will participate in the interview process.
The results of the public opinion survey point to the fact that the larger part of the citizens has prejudice towards the Roma people, the homosexuals, drug users, persons with disabilities and other marginalized groups.
After the presentation of the results, there was a debate in which the team of researches, the representatives of the NGOs, amongst which the Republic Center – PORAKA, and of the competent state institutions participated. FOSIM will announce the results of the survey later on when it will be completed. The survey was delivered by the Institute for Social and Political Juridical Research and financed by FOSIM.
