Formal opening of the new facilities of the day center - PORAKA Ohrid

            The day center - PORAKA Ohrid operates for seven years as a part of the network of social services of the Republic center for support of persons with intellectual disability - PORAKA, and the beneficiaries are adolescents and adults with intellectual disability. Recognizing that the space capacity of the day center was not meeting the needs for including higher number of beneficiaries, the Republic center - PORAKA and PORAKA Ohrid permanently emphasized the need for solving this issue in front of the local institutions in the past years.
            Due to the understanding of the Municipality of Ohrid and the Mayor of Municipality of Ohrid, Mr Aleksandar Petreski, the initiative was realized by granting new facilities for a day center, which are located in the primary schools “Bratstvo - Edinstvo” in Ohrid. The Municipality of Ohrid, local enterprises, businessmen and LIONS Club “Desareti” from Ohrid participated in the adaptation and the renovation of the premises.

            In front of large number of associates, supporters and friends of PORAKA Ohrid, on 30th of March 2009, the Mayor of Municipality of Ohrid, Mr Aleksandar Petreski, formally opened the new facilities of the day center - PORAKA Ohrid. This provided the day center with all of the necessary technical preconditions for functioning. It is for us to justify the thrust in the following period and to show even bigger results and more quality work with the persons with intellectual disability in Ohrid.
